National Game Keepers
Brief:
The NGO asked for a membership website that could be maintained and updated from multiple locations.
It needed to provide a platform to raise the profile of the National Gamekeepers Organisations with potential members. Support the membership with access to a library of advice that can be easily updated. To have news and event features.
To carry an advertising to enable sponsors to pay and advertise on the website, as well as the printed membership magazine.
Project to be undertaken without the need for face to face meetings.
For the resources with the website to be found in search engines to enable non members to see how the NGO may be of assistance and of relevance to them.
To create a basic on-line shop, although payments would not be taken on-line at this stage.
Solution:
The proposed solution enabled authorised NGO personnel to login to the administrative system from any location and make changes to the website.
A flexible information library with expandable categories and flexible content structures was proposed, providing the basis for the information library and the basic on-line shop.
As each library item can be profiled using the built in search engine optimisation, the individual library items appear in search engines under appropriate phrases.
The Paston Chase content management systems have been design with remote support in mind, these features were key to delivering the necessary training, via telephone conference call and for the ongoing remote support as occasionally required.
Result:
The site was successfully launched autumn 2006. Over the past two years visitors to the website have increased by 75%. The membership has grown by around 20% over the same period.
With the threat of bird flu over this period, members appreciated the prompt way in which the website was updated and kept them informed.
We were asked in June 2008 to enhance the system to enable membership subscriptions (new and existing) to be managed and paid for on-line by card or direct debit. The on-line subscription management system will be flexible enough to accommodate those members that do not wish join or renew on-line and wish to pay by other other method including cheques.
At the same time a much improved on-line shop is being developed which will also take payments on-line.
