Czech trip July - August 2003

The real reson for going to the Czech Republic was to go to the "Czech tek" festival. Czech tek is what in England would be an "illegal rave", but so far at least, they seem more tolerant over there.

But to go all that way just for a festival would have been a waste of a flight, so I went for three weeks. The trip was blessed - if that's the right word - by a heatwave and temperatures were well over 40 deg C for alot of the time, I think 46 was the highest. This limited what I could do, but given Prague is a nice city and the beer (the best in the world) is almost free, life wasn't too bad.

Prague

Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The city escaped damage in world war 2 and the long winter of communism ensured it escaped the ravages of 1960's "redevelopment". So I kicked off by exploring the old city, somewhere I come back to later
